“A picture is worth a thousand words.”

An adage that we have all heard countless times throughout our lives, but it is something that I think is especially apt when it comes to a portrait. Unlike in landscape or street photography, working with a model requires a balance—a push and pull between the subject and the photographer. Sure, some photographers have a vision, and their chosen models are just a vessel to help them achieve their vision, but I like to approach a portrait as a collaborative effort to help us reach a common goal.

I love getting to work with different people from different walks of life, to see them light up upon seeing the images I take, and to tell a story that lives up to the adage.
